1 – Take Time Apart

It is important to start with a period of no contact with your ex after a breakup. You need to take some time to wrap your head around your feelings and grieve. If you just maintain a similar level of communication as before the break up it can be too easy to rush into fixing the relationship and making poor decisions about necessary boundaries.

2 – Focus on Yourself

Now is a good time to work on you. Self-care and confidence building are important things to focus on after a breakup. Read a book, take a bath, go to a seminar. Do whatever you need to so that you can rebuild and revitalize your relationship with yourself.

3 – Get Out There

Once you have reached a state where you are calm and ready, get back on the horse. Go out and meet someone, go on a few dates or even just host a night out with friends. Don’t stop living your life just because one chapter has ended. It is never too late to reach out and grab the next great adventure.
